- What is PMI?
PMI is the world’s leading not-for-profit association for the project management profession. PMI is recognized for the advocacy programs. With more than 265,000 members in over 170 countries, PMI is the leading membership association for the project management profession.
For 25 years, PMI’s global standards have helped establish the Institute as the premier authority in project management. For more information on PMI please visit www.pmi.org.
- What are PMI Certifications?
PMI offers a comprehensive certification program for project practitioners of all education and skill levels. Currently consisting of five credentials, the program demonstrates both your commitment to the profession and your expertise through certifying education, experience and competency.
Rigorously developed by project managers and globally accredited against International Standards Organization (ISO) standards, PMI certifications ensure that you and your projects excel.
According to a 2007 PricewaterhouseCoopers survey, 80% of high-performing projects use a credentialed project manager. Make sure you’re one of them by earning a PMI certification.
- Is the PMI standards industry specific?
PMI standards are not industry specific. They are practicable across industry.
- Why Choose a PMI Certification, than any other project management certifications? What makes PMI’s special?
PMI credentials:
Are flexible. PMI certifications are not based on one specific methodology, so they’re flexible and adaptable. You can easily transfer them between industries, market segments and geographic locations.
Keep you up-to-date. PMI continually conducts in-depth studies to ensure that our credentials actually reflect the current skills, knowledge and best practices you need to succeed.
Encourage professional growth. You never have to worry about a PMI certification becoming obsolete. Our certification maintenance program requires you to earn a professional development unit (PDUs), which encourages you to continually develop your skills and stay current as the profession changes.
Help you get ahead. PMI certification offers financial benefits — the Project Management Professional (PMP) ® credential increases your salary by up to 10%, according to the PMI Salary Survey — Sixth Edition, 2009—and helps you stand out and better market yourself to prospective employers.
Are renowned throughout the world. Part of that marketability comes from the prestige of PMI certifications. PMI has provided project management certifications for over 25 years, and our PMP ® credential was the first one designed specifically for project managers.
