TOGAF 9 is a rather popular enterprise architecture framework that has been successfully implemented in many organizations. There are two flavors of TOGAF implementation in the enterprise- baseline first and target first. Baseline first is when you do know that there are some inefficiencies in your organization, but aren’t entirely sure what they are. So you go through a discovery phase of your current state, identify the bottlenecks and inefficiencies and come up with a target state. And target first is when you are clear where you want to go and reverse engineer the current state and achieve the target architecture.
