For all companies, streamlining their processes is a solid strategy to help improve efficiency, quality, and performance. Six Sigma methodologies is a set of management tools and techniques designed to improve businesses by eliminating defects and the likelihood of error. As a certified Six Sigma professional, you’ll have the skills, qualifications, and experience needed to thrive in a quality control position or similar role.

As you explore your different options for Six Sigma certification, you’ll notice that they are categorized by belt rankings, similarly to the same belt rankings that are awarded in martial arts. In order of ranking, the belts are as follows: white belt, yellow belt, green belt, black belt, and master black belt. The green belt level is right in the middle, and while there are still two more belts before reaching the most advanced level, those with green belt certification are considered to be Six Sigma experts who qualify to earn a sizable Six Sigma Green Belt salary.

Job Roles Available for LSSGB Certification

With a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) certification, you’ll acquire the skills you need to improve processes within an organization – which is why more and more businesses are recognizing the value in this skill.

An LSSGB certification can lead to a wide range of exciting career options, including:

  • Quality Systems Manager

A quality manager is responsible for monitoring production processes in manufacturing and ensuring that team members adhere to industry and company requirements. They may also create, implement, and maintain quality management systems.
  • Quality Engineer

A quality engineer is a key part of any quality assurance (QA) team, and is responsible for creating tests and fixing any problems that they find. They follow every step of a manufacturing process and also work with suppliers, manufacturing teams, design teams, and customers. This role is also commonly referred to as QA engineer and QC engineer.
  • Quality Supervisor

Quality supervisors typically lead QA teams throughout the production process. Not only do they supervise quality control staff and the quality management system, but they are also responsible for managing customer experience and identifying safe working environment protocols. Quality supervisors also provide reports on quality metrics.
  • Quality Analyst

Quality Analysts (or QA analysts) are responsible for testing for problems and fixing any issues that may arise. In order to succeed in this role, you must have the problem-solving skills to find (and communicate) these errors with other team members. Quality analysts often work as part of a development team.
  • Quality Auditor

These individuals are responsible for identifying areas of improvement and creating the appropriate plan of action. For example, they may determine where additional training is required, fix defects in the existing processes, and create training modules. They are involved, if needed, throughout the entire audit quality system process, from planning to additional audits.
