The Journey
I have been in the IT industry for 15 years. I started my career as a Marketing Executive at Rajdhani Cables. Later I joined Wipro Infotech as a System Engineer and got promoted to Cloud Consultant. I then took the position of Solution Architect at RedHat India, followed by the position of a GSI-Partner Solution Architect at VMware India. At present, I am employed at Google as an Infrastructure Modernization Specialist. I have been working there for the last year.
The Challenge
I understand the fast pace of technological development and its impact on the IT sector. Unfortunately, I was not up-to-date with the latest technologies in the market. While working at VMware as a Solutions Architect, I had to talk to customers and visualize premium-class solutions. It was then that I realized my need for skill development. I wanted a better work opportunity which also required me to upskill.
After thoughtful consideration, I decided to learn about cloud computing and focused on DevOps. With the new-found knowledge and achieved skills, my journey toward my career goal has become easier and faster.
Simplilearn Solution
I did my research and found out what skill development I needed. However, the solution was not one but a combination of four different courses – Simplilearn’s PGP in Cloud Computing, PGP in DevOps in association with Caltech CTME, PGP in Cyber Security with modules from MIT and PGP in Full Stack Web Development in association with Caltech CTME. Simplilearn made it possible! The amazing team guided me throughout and showed me how I could take the four courses together.
The Impact
With the four courses, I quickly overcame the gap in my knowledge about technology. The knowledge and new skills increased my confidence to face and crack interviews. More importantly, I am currently applying these skills in my everyday work to provide the best of cloud architecture and DevOps infrastructure solutions to my clients.
After I decided to upskill and opted for Simplilearn’s courses, I got a job at Google and my salary increased by 35%.
