Introduction
My name is Evgeniya Romanenko, and I’m based in Germany, where I work in CPM operational controlling. Although my professional background is not in software engineering or IT, I have always been curious about emerging technologies. I began exploring AI independently and completed AI-related programs, eventually becoming a certified AI Manager. This interest motivated me to deepen my technical understanding and explore how AI can be applied to real-world business processes.
Reason to Upskill
After completing programs focused on AI concepts, agent creation, and Microsoft Copilot, I wanted to gain a more technical understanding of AI. My goal was to move beyond theory and learn how to build AI-powered solutions, understand orchestration, and create multi-agent systems. I was particularly interested in developing practical skills that I could apply in my role, despite not having an engineering background. I also needed a flexible program that would allow me to balance learning with my professional responsibilities.
Choosing Simplilearn
I explored some of the best AI programs using Claude and compared their curricula, structures, and learning outcomes. Simplilearn’s Applied Agentic AI program in collaboration with Microsoft stood out because it offered the technical depth I was looking for in an accessible learning format. The Microsoft collaboration was also relevant to my workplace, where we use Microsoft technologies extensively. After speaking with a program advisor and learning more about the curriculum and program structure, I felt confident that it aligned with my learning goals.
Experience with the Program
My experience with Simplilearn was engaging and enjoyable. Although I initially wondered whether the technical content might be challenging without an engineering background, instructor Alok explained complex concepts in a clear and easy-to-understand way. I appreciated the live sessions, where learners could ask questions and interact directly with the instructor, as well as the well-structured learning materials.
The hands-on projects were particularly valuable because they allowed me to apply concepts and work on real-world AI solutions rather than focusing only on theory. I also enjoyed the collaborative learning environment and the opportunity to learn from other curious and motivated participants. The best thing was the flexibility to attend sessions and dedicate time to learning on weekends, which made it easier to manage the program alongside my work. The support from my program advisor was also helpful whenever I had questions about sessions, access, or scheduling.
