I started my career in the IT sector in the year 2002. At that time, it was extremely difficult to get into this sector because the major problem I faced was the unavailability of learning platforms to upgrade myself. I pursued a master’s in Computer Application before starting my career in the IT sector. I have been in this industry for more than 20 years now. During this tenure, I have taken up multiple job roles. However, I faced problems getting a job during the IT recession in 2002. 

I started my career with a small company, which was based out of Delhi. However, due to limited practical knowledge, I faced many difficulties reading through the written notes and applying the principles on the job. 

Over the years, I shifted to multiple companies, and today I am working at one of the most reputed IT companies in the country.

It is an ever-changing industry. Similar to today’s situation, it was crucial to upskill my knowledge and expertise back in 2002. However, there was no learning platform available earlier. This course increased the scope of my work abilities and enhanced my decision taking behaviour in my current job role.

I have the zeal to learn different skills to upgrade myself. Once I came across the responsibilities and job requirements of a data analyst, I was driven to learn this skill and make a shift from an EMM Trading Tool Analyst position.

The Journey

I completed my master’s in Electrical Engineering from New York University. Following this, I got an offer letter for an EMM Trading Tool Analyst at SGCIB in 2017. After working here for some time, I felt the need to upgrade myself and learn the skills needed for a data analyst role. For this purpose, I chose the Data Analytics course from Simplilearn. After completing this course, my manager saw the potential in me and helped me shift to the data analyst position in the organisation.

Later I pursued Big Data Hadoop and Spark Developer courses from Simplilearn and got selected to be an Associate Data Engineer at Publicis Sapient.
