The Journey

My journey into the professional world began in 2009 when I embarked on my career as a Systems Engineer with Infosys. Climbing the ladder, I was promoted to Senior Systems Engineer in 2011, marking my dedication and passion for my field. My quest for knowledge and growth led me to the United States in 2014, aiming to enhance my academic credentials with an MBA. This decision paved the way for a series of enriching experiences, starting with an internship at Equinix in business analysis. My journey continued as I navigated through various roles, including a Financial Analyst at Equinix, Lead Business Analyst at OGE Energy Group, Product Owner at NextEra Energy Resources, and Program Manager with Tech Mahindra. In 2019, I returned to Equinix as a Business Systems Analyst, a role that recently saw me ascend to Senior Business Systems Analyst, coupled with a gratifying 30% salary increase.

The Challenge

The catalyst for my decision to upskill came during my tenure as a Business Systems Analyst at Equinix. Recognizing the need to enhance my performance and contribute more effectively to my team, I sought out the TOGAF & ITIL Foundation courses. My goal was to deepen my understanding of our business systems and frameworks, ensuring that I could bring more value to my role and, by extension, to the organization.

My Career Journey So Far

I started my career in 2016 as a developer in a small organization after I completed my studies. After that, I moved to Cameroon and worked as an Application Support Engineer. After working there for a few years, I wanted to understand this role better and grow professionally. So, I took the ITIL Certification Course. I am currently working in France as a Genesys Expert in Groupe Covea.

My Career Journey So Far

I consider myself a professionally versatile American with more than 20 years of work experience. For example, I have worked in financial services, telecommunications, construction, aerospace, defense, IT, automotive, and power generation. While working for giant manufacturing companies such as Ford and Mitsubishi, I realized that the manufacturing sector was shrinking, and I decided to change my career path to focus on IT. After working for two decades in various industries, I realized I needed to change my career path. The world is moving towards IT, and everything is available online now. IT services interested me, and I wanted to explore the opportunity of working as an IT specialist. However, I lacked the required knowledge and skills. I am an IT professional who works as a shop floor support specialist at Chamberlain Group in Sonora, Mexico. Gaining ITIL Certification

I have worked in the IT industry for 15 years, and I’m currently the shop floor support specialist for the Chamberlain Group, a company that manufactures motors. I am the support specialist for all of the company’s production computers. This job required me to get an ITIL certification, leading me to Simplilearn. I studied IT engineering, and I passed in 2010. At first, I was working on my own business in the mechanical field, but I couldn’t continue that. Currently, I own another small business which I run with my wife while doing my job, in which we provide IT technical support. I live in Lusaka, Zambia, where I am a software developer at RCCG Information Gateway. I received a bachelor’s degree in banking and financial services from Redeemer’s University, and I have a wealth of experience as an information technology consultant.
