  • What other resources are available for learning the concepts other than the BABOK® Guide?

    The BABOK® Guide is the ideal resource and provides most of the reference materials. We also recommend using Simplilearn’s CBAP Certification course materials, which are highly focused on the exam.

  • Where can I access the practice exams? Does the IIBA® provide practice tests?

    Simplilearn is an Endorsed CBAP Training Provider and offers CBAP exam simulations / mock test papers. We provide around 700 questions in our CBAP Online Study Exam. The IIBA® does not provide sample tests.

  • How do I sign up for the CBAP exam and What does the CBAP certification cost?

    CBAP Certification exam requires a two-step process.

    • First, you must submit your application with the application fee (non-refundable) and pass the initial screening process for the CBAP exams.
    • Once the IIBA® assesses your qualifications for the exam, you should schedule a date for the exam with the official testing agency. You will receive an email with the instructions once your reservation is approved. You can visit https://www.iiba.org/certification/core-business-analysis-certifications/CBAP/ or the complete process.

    CBAP certification exam fees:

    • Application Fee: $145  and non-refundable (i.e. regardless of whether your application is approved or declined).
    • CBAP Exam Fee: $350 for IIBA® members and $505 for non-members.

  • What is the structure of the CBAP® BABOK® v3 exams?

    The CBAP® exam has a time limit of three and a half hours and consists of 120 multiple choice questions. The questions are based on case studies (one to one and a half pages of information) with multiple questions about each case. The exam assesses the candidate’s practical applications of the defined competencies for this Level 3 certification in the IIBA® Certification framework.

  • After completion of the application, how long does it take to get approved?

    The IIBA® will notify you that your application is being processed within two weeks of receiving the application. The IIBA® assesses the application for completeness of the CBAP certification requirements and will notify you of the results within 21 days of receiving the application via email.

  • Is it mandatory to have experience in all of the knowledge areas to apply for this CBAP certification course?

    Yes. You are required to have 900 or more hours in at least four of the six core Knowledge Areas to apply for CBAP certification.

  • Is it necessary to complete the required 25 hours of PD?

    Yes. 25 hours of professional development (PD) training are required before you may submit your application. However, you do not need to submit the CBAP course certificate with your application.

  • Do I need to retake the exams to remain certified?

    You do not need to retake an exam unless your certification has lapsed. However, CBAP® professionals are required to complete the IIBA® Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. For this, CBAPs should have a minimum of 60 Continuing Development Units (CDUs) during a three year CCR cycle.
