I am a highly experienced electronic engineer with a zeal to learn and stay updated with new technologies. My goal is to become a successful CEO of a good company. The Journey 

I started my career in electronic engineering as a Boeing Structures Engineer for Boeing Commercial Airlines. I switched my job and started working for Lufthansa Technik as a Product engineer, and in the span of around 7 years, I was promoted to different positions. I am currently working as a Staff Engineer, Systems Applications Team Lead at Analog Devices. I have been working with Analog Devices for over a decade now. 

The Challenge 

I have worked in the electronic engineering industry for about 20 years. I have learned a lot of techniques and advancements during these years. As technology is expanding and evolving every day, I want to explore new areas of technology. Artificial Intelligence is quite an interesting and intriguing field of work nowadays. To keep up with this expanding technology, I wanted to learn the techniques and concepts of artificial intelligence. I tried to keep myself updated with news articles and books, but I needed a good understanding of the concepts of AI. After working in the electronic engineering industry for around 20 years and learning new skills and techniques to take a leap into a new industry like artificial intelligence, it has been very exciting and knowledgeable.

Simplilearn Solution

I wanted to add artificial intelligence to my skill set. But I did not know how and where to start. I surfed the internet looking for options for an easy way to get the best learning of artificial intelligence. I came across some online courses and programs. I started to read about them and compare them to get the best one I needed. I contacted the Simplilearn customer care office to know about the courses they were offering. The counsellor was very helpful and easily explained every course detail. I enrolled myself in Simplilearn’s Professional certificate in AI & Ml program.

The structure of Simplilearn’s Professional certificate in AI & Ml, the course is comprehensive and includes various virtual practicals. The faculty members were industry experts who were very well-versed in the topics. Some of my favourite parts of the course were the live sessions in which I was able to have one-on-one interaction with the experts. This course benefits professionals who want to start their careers in artificial intelligence.

I have experience in the telecommunication industry, where I had a successful retail sales representative career. My work experience brushed my Budgeting, Python, Microsoft Excel, Customer Service, and Microsoft Word skills. I aimed to expand my online portfolio and develop more technological skills, encouraging me to look for a good educational platform. 

The Challenge 

I held expertise in previous industries, which made me look for new challenges. The prerequisite for the same is familiarity with the new domain. The prior knowledge was not a reliable and accurate source to be applied in technicality. I chose Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence as a path to tread. However, the endeavor required a certification, which further needed choosing among multiple educational platforms.

I chose the Machine Learning Program offered by Simplilearn. Overall the experience was rewarding and worthwhile. It was effectively delivered in flexible hours, which helped me follow my busy and unpredictable schedule as a single mother. Highly qualified instructors shared their real-life experiences, which was a motivating and encouraging experience. Moreover, I enjoyed a lot through live projects. However, I suggest room for improvement, such as providing captions for videos, more detailed comprehension videos, along with revision books.

I’m an American project manager with more than 15 years of experience working as a transformational project engineer for Koch Industries. After recognizing the prevalence of data science and artificial intelligence in our industry, I decided to upskill myself. My Job Requires an In-Depth Understanding of Data 

The world around us is data-driven, and my job profile demands an in-depth understanding of data and its applications. To increase the scope of my work abilities and make better overall decisions, I decided to upskill myself. 

I am a project manager with 15+ years of experience. My academics revolved around mechanical engineering, and I am currently working as a transformational projects engineer at Koch Industries. My day-to-day responsibilities include project and program management, installing large-scale equipment, and designing and developing capital projects. My job profile includes regular simulations to optimize lead times and ensure product line capacity. Contributing to developing new products and processes is also a crucial part of my job. Before Koch, I worked as a project engineer for Cornerstones Automation Systems.

I am a tech enthusiast passionate about artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. With more than a decade’s experience in the tech industry, I have worked with several companies throughout my professional journey. Currently, I’m serving as Lam Research’s senior engineering technician LVL 3/R&D/safety ambassador chairman. Managing Time for Study

I knew it would be a challenge to manage work and learning. The flexible learning method helped me cope with my job simultaneously while studying. I took night shifts, worked out early in the morning, and studied. It was: go to work, go to the gym, and then study. I keep telling my friends and colleagues to take courses of their interest from Simplilearn. Simplilearn has been a game-changer; it has added a lot of perspective to my understanding of AI.

I live in Bangalore, Karnataka. My background is in mechanical engineering. I received my M. Tech from IIT Bombay, and worked with companies like Whirlpool and Bluestar in mid-level managerial roles. I have always been drawn to R&D and analytics, and since 2015, I have been at Ingersoll Rand, handling work related to IoT Sensor Data Analytics, dashboard creation, and identifying false machines.

I was applying machine learning tools for predictive and prescriptive R, but felt my skill set was limited and wanted more training. I was interested in learning Python and more advanced techniques like AI/ML.

AI and ML training helps a middle-aged mom advance in her career with marketable skills and confidence.  

I loved my job at Dell Technologies, but I suddenly found myself out of work due to my limited education and training. I turned that around by upskilling myself with the Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning program, and today I am a machine learning data manager at Abbin. 

I should mention that I’m a 41-year-old mother and grandmother. When I was 18, I joined the U.S. Army and worked in its human resources division. After my two-year service, I dealt with some personal setbacks and struggled to find a decent job. A hiring agency connected me with Dell Technologies, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, due to my limited education qualifications, I was eventually let go. Moving Forward and Not Looking Back

Three years ago, I vowed to keep moving forward and never look back, no matter what. Enduring tough times and a difficult marriage made me realize the importance of self-dependence.

I earned a meager income through my photography business, but I was able to build a house for our family. One day, a hiring agency called looking for candidates to work at Dell Technologies. I cracked that job and simply loved it. Everyone there made me push my limits and I thrived on finding solutions to workplace problems. 

However, because I wasn’t certified, I was let go from my job. I was devastated. The job made me feel confident, smart, and self-dependent. From then on, it was my motto to get back to Dell Technologies. 

First, I needed upskilling. I enrolled in Simplilearn’s course and that has been a great decision for me.

Today, I credit Simplilearn with my love of self-learning. Whenever I land up a new job, I’m confident that I’ll give my best. My intellectual abilities are expanding exponentially and I am very happy about that. By learning with Simplilearn, my portfolio of work is improving tremendously and my toolbox is overflowing with solutions.
