I always believe in learning, and it has shaped who I am today. In my professional journey, my mantra has always been the same –  “Learning is growing. If you stop learning, you’ll stop growing. Therefore, it has to be an evolving process.” This has helped me reach great heights both personally and professionally.

My Journey

My professional career hasn’t always been linear. I studied Electronics and Telecommunication and graduated from Sardar Patel University in 2007 before deciding to grow in marketing. I then pursued PGDM in Marketing from the SIES College of Management Studies in 2011. For the last 12 years, I have been working in my dream company, Google Cloud. I am currently a Business Manager and am responsible for ensuring people use the right tools and collaboration strategies, allowing them to expand and scale better with Google Technologies.

My company provides a lot of flexibility in work, so I rarely go to the office. I h ave been assigned to manage various regions, so my work involves a lot of traveling and interactions with various companies’ CEOs, CPOS, Co-Founders, and even senior-level stakeholders, including the Board of Directors. 

The Challenge

While my job is fantastic, I know I must follow my learning mantra. At my Google Cloud division, I realized that majority of my interactions with the customers revolved around Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This was becoming a promising sector for me in terms of sales. So, to serve my customers better and improve my performance in my current role, I decided that taking up an in-depth course in AI and ML would be the perfect way to upskill myself.

Professionally, I want to be known as an individual who understands new-age technologies (like metaverse), both their application and implication to a specific industry. I would like to see myself grow as a person who can contribute to helping a social issue or an industry-specific issue concerning new technologies and innovations. This is why upskilling seemed like the perfect choice for me!

My name is Tarekh Bekgasam, and I’m originally from Libya, now living with my family in Ohio, USA. I currently work as Associate Consultant at KiE Square Analytics. Prior to this role, I’d worked at Honda since 2019, and have also enjoyed a rich experience in the field of teaching. I hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University.

I always had a passion for AI and machine learning (AI/ML) and knew its importance in the materials research field in which I worked. I realized that to become a subject matter expert in the same, I needed to upskill from a reputable course provider. Successfully completing this program at Simplilearn introduced me to the many important advancements in the field of AI/ML. I was able to apply my knowledge and skills immediately on the job and was soon regarded as an expert in this field at the company I worked for.

I’m using the tools I learned in the course while performing my duties in my new role, and I feel that the skills acquired from this certificate will help me become even better.

The Journey

I’ve spent over 16+yrs in the automotive space, working at various levels in different companies.  I worked with the likes of Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, etc. My last transition was from being a Deputy Manager Research & Development at Mahindra to Tata Motors where as a Senior Manager where I worked for over six and a half years.

The potential for AI in business strategy and support is definitely a growing sector and I knew that I wanted to do something of my own in this space. However, I felt like I needed to learn a bit more to understand my company’s niche.

The Challenge

With this much potential in AI, I started looking for ideas that would offer a whole playground where I could create a unique offering for my customers. I already loved learning about new technologies in my spare time and I decided that I needed to now learn more from experts, this is what drove me to taking a course to help upskill myself so that I would understand my customers better.

My career started after completing my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mumbai University in 2004. Two years later, I completed my post-graduate studies at Birla Institute of Arts, Science, and Commerce, Thane, then joined Caliber Point as a specialist. After working there for five years, I held various business analyst positions at companies like Aon, Wipro, and HDFC Bank.

Having worked in the same field for a few years, I felt the need to upskill myself with the latest, in-demand technical skills. I enrolled in Simplilearn’s Artificial Engineer Master’s Program and immediately reaped the benefits. Being from a non-IT background, I always struggled to learn to code and had to invest lots of time. Simplilearn’s course framework, resources, and support helped me succeed in spite of my previous difficulties. After working for 12 years as a user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) expert, Siddharth Pandey decided to explore his career options. He just needed to settle on a path, and he found that path through Simplilearn’s Professional certificate in AI and Machine Learning.

Working at Nagra Kudelski, Siddharth had a wealth of technical expertise doing requirement analysis, estimations, UI code design, code review, and UI component development for clients such as Foxtel, Starhub, Telefonica, TBC, and Claro Colombia.

Siddarth’s colleagues recommended taking management courses, but Siddharth wanted to continue working in the technical domain. He worked on a proof of concept project which used machine learning (ML) concepts, and he found it inspiring. He began referring to tutorials on YouTube and quickly realized it was time for him to gain formal training.

Gaining Simplilearn Training

Siddarth wasn’t looking to make a wholesale career change but was keen to incorporate his experience working in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). 

“AI is becoming more and more universal as large companies such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube use ML models for movie recommendations,” said Siddarth. He added that Alexa’s speech recognition also is powered by AI.

Simplilearn’s Professional Certificate in AI and Machine Learning, caught Siddarth’s attention. He was also attracted to the curriculum, which teaches statistics, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning.

To enroll in Simplilearn’s course, candidates need two years of work experience, a bachelor’s degree, and a basic understanding of programming concepts and mathematics.
