Build a Python Adventure Game with GitHub Copilot

About the Webinar

One of the most significant shifts in the AI/ML field right now is this: you don't need to be an expert to build something real. And the best way to learn how to build with AI is to actually build something—live, from scratch, in real time.

This webinar guides you through a demo of the complete development of a text-based adventure game in Python, with GitHub Copilot as an active coding partner throughout. It's engaging, technically substantive, and demonstrates one of the most compelling use cases for AI-assisted development: rapid creation of interactive, logic-driven applications.

Beyond its entertainment value, this session teaches a transferable mental model: thinking in terms of structures, delegating implementation to AI, and maintaining creative and architectural control as a developer-director.

We’ll also dive deep into the Applied Generative AI Specialization course, powered by Simplilearn in partnership with Michigan Engineering Professional Education, and in collaboration with Microsoft Azure.

If you've been on the fence about AI coding tools, this is your 60-minute answer.

What You’ll Learn in This Session

  • GitHub Copilot: Learn how it works and how it enhances coding productivity, and understand the project structure, code flow, and logic
  • GenAI integration: See how Copilot integrates with the Python and GenAI-driven coding workflows in the live game building demo
  • GenAI prompting techniques: Learn how to use effective GenAI prompts to add variation, dialogues, or randomness in the game
  • Program deep dive: Get a thorough understanding of the hands-on, industry-aligned Applied Generative AI Specialization course, whether it’s for you, and what roles it prepares you for

About the Speaker

Jaime Saldarriaga is a self-taught programmer who has navigated several career transitions, driven by curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning. He works with Google Cloud Platform, particularly Vertex AI and Gemini, building and integrating large language model (LLM) solutions tailored to client needs and improving performance for tasks such as code generation and question answering.

He has experience as an AI/ML Engineer integrating LLMs into client workflows and optimizing their outputs. He has also contributed to AI training initiatives by evaluating and comparing outputs from multiple LLMs. Earlier, as a Data Scientist, he specialized in data scraping techniques and code documentation.
