You've heard you can build anything with AI now. What no one shows you is the part after the demo works, when a real user touches it, and it breaks. This Build-a-thon is built entirely around that gap. Over four hours, you'll learn to:

• Separate AI-assisted engineering from AI-generated slop
• Review and reject what a coding agent hands you, instead of trusting it
• Keep slow AI calls from blocking your users
• Spot what fails first the moment real traffic arrives

What This Build-a-thon Will Show You

In this 4-hour live session, you'll watch an empty repo and a blank screen become Smart Feedback Hub, a complete, deployed AI SaaS product. The build happens in three stages:

Stage 1: Frontend: AI-scaffold a feedback form and dashboard shell in Next.js + Tailwind. See what good prompting and code review actually look like: prompt the agent, refine, and reject what doesn't hold up.

Stage 2: Backend: Design a Postgres schema in Supabase, add auth, build typed API routes, and create an AI enrichment endpoint that classifies and summarizes every piece of incoming feedback via the Anthropic API.

Stage 3: System Design: Stop the slow AI call from blocking users. Move enrichment to background processing with caching, retries, and idempotency. Then deploy live to Vercel + Supabase and walk through rate limits, failure modes, and what scales.

Bonus build: One more feature, live in 10 minutes, a Slack alert that fires automatically whenever AI tags feedback as strongly negative.
