The Journey 

I completed my graduation in mechanical energy from Sathyabama University. After finishing my engineering degree, I did an internship as an associate at Hyundai. I worked there for around two months. I learned certain qualities like how to work in a team, productivity, time management, and more. Later, I switched to the field of design. I am currently working at APA Engineering as a Design Consultant. 

The Challenge 

After completing my graduation in mechanical energy from Sathyabama University, I did an internship as an associate at Hyundai. I was very confused regarding my career options. I started to feel like I did not belong in mechanical engineering. I began to look around for different career options. I was already intrigued by designing from my graduation years, so I looked at it as a new career. 

I started researching and analyzing the skills and other requirements for a career in the design domain. To learn about designing, I tried getting different people’s perspectives through various sites. I also watched several videos on UI/UX designing. But, I was not getting any good quality content to learn design. Then, I came across the UI/UX designing courses, which could be a great help for me. To build a good career ladder in design, I decided to pursue a certification course in UI/UX design. From being a mechanical engineer and associate at Hyundai to taking a leap and becoming a Design Consultant, the journey was smooth and filled with a lot of learning.

I started looking for good online courses or programs. Once I had a list of all the skills I needed to add to my skill set, I narrowed the search process. I was looking for a cost-effective, industry-focused, detailed course that would help me get the proper guidance and knowledge for my career. Previously I worked as a teacher of Computer Science and later decided to change to Software Development. But to my surprise, I realized that the course I did in 2007 was no longer in use. Numerous changes in technologies have been observed since then. Despite getting a job, I knew I could not give my hundred percent because of my lack of knowledge in this field. I wanted to improve in this area of Software Development and decided to take up a course in Simplilearn.

The Journey

I Graduated from Clemson University with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Although I did pursue a Ph.D., I couldn’t finish it. Before becoming a full-time Computer Science teacher, I did a summer internship as a research assistant at NASA and worked in numerous other internships and jobs. I had worked for almost 8 years as a teacher when I decided to try software development. I have always wanted to try this field as a professional career. Even in my bachelor days, I worked as a freelancer and continued this for some time. Finally, ITW Hartness gave me the opportunity in 2019, and I became a software developer. I work with Smith Drug and am responsible for various tasks, from identifying and evaluating to looking after applications that perform particular tasks.

The Challenge

As times have changed, many new technologies have been introduced. As I stated earlier, the degree I did in 2007 was good, but it doesn’t deliver the requirements needed in today’s technologies. So it has been difficult for me to cope with the information. Also, the job interviews I attended asked me about certain technologies I didn’t know about. So, to tackle this knowledge gap, I decided to apply for a certification course. I really needed confidence in my interviews.

I was always interested to learn about software development and so I decided to take a course in February 2021. I knew this course would help me find a better position in this sector as, in recent times, the competition in this field has been fierce. Since it was also the time of the pandemic, I thought about working on upgrading my skills. 

The Journey

I finished my graduation in 2020 in Engineering (Electronics and Telecommunication) and decided to pursue my interest in software development. Once I completed my course, I received a placement at IKS Health, wherein I am currently working as a junior software engineer.

I am an electrical engineer from G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. I secured a job at an organization on remote hardware technical support. Coming from a farmers’ family, I know the daily problems farmers face to get fair prices for their products. My company, Faarm2Plate, is a step in solving those challenges. However, I needed to learn about blockchain technology to improve supply chain management. This is where Simplilearn helped me out!

The Journey

I began my professional journey in 2001 with a small-scale startup and gradually moved towards core telecommunication companies. I later joined TCS. After 8 years of working at TCS, I decided to build my own company. I wanted to bring the market directly to the farmers, and with that aim, Faarm2Plate came into existence in 2019. I am an industrial and product design graduate who started working as a designer in 2008. After working in the industry for over 10 years, in 2019, I left my job at Formula D Interactive as a senior product designer to pursue a full-time career as a freelancer. 

I had always been interested in coding, so I chose to make a career in that field. However, I realized there were some gaps in my knowledge that I needed to fill to be successful; namely, I wanted a solid introduction to Python language fundamentals.
