    The PMP® 7th Edition exam will remain available until 8 July 2026, and the PMP® 8th Edition exam will take effect from 9 July 2026.

    • The PMBOK® Guide – 8th Edition is already available as a free digital download for PMI members. Candidates planning to take the exam on or after 9 July 2026 should prepare using the PMBOK® Guide – 8th Edition.
    • The PMBOK® Guide – 7th Edition remains accessible to PMI members but applies only to the PMP® 7th Edition exam, which sunsets on 8 July 2026.

  • Will the training duration or PDUs change with PMP® 8th Edition?

    No. The PMP® 8th Edition maintains the same training requirements. Learners continue to receive 35 hours of training and earn 35 PDUs upon successful completion of the program. 

  • What happens if a Learner does not renew the membership on time?

    If a Learner does not renew their PMI® membership and it lapses, they will lose access to membership benefits such as certification discounts, PMI Infinity, member-only webinars, additional PDU opportunities, and chapter membership benefits. If they later choose to rejoin, the applicable activation fee may apply.

    PMI membership can be renewed as early as 90 days before the expiration date, and renewal is based on the most recent join date. To renew, Learners should log in to PMI.org and access the myPMI dashboard, where they can renew both PMI and chapter memberships. Before completing the renewal, they should verify that their billing and shipping information is up to date and that their saved payment method is current.
    Enabling automatic renewal helps ensure uninterrupted access to PMI membership benefits.
