We guarantee you’ll walk away with all the preparation and confidence you need to conquer the exam and earn the PMP certification.
The PMP certification is an essential professional requirement for senior project manager roles across all industries. The course is best suited for:
· Project Managers
· Associate/Assistant Project Managers
· Team Leads/Team Managers
· Project Executives/Project Engineers
· Software Developers
· Any professional aspiring to be a Project Manager

2. Schedule and Cost Management
3. Risk assessment and Procurement Management
4. Plan Quality Management
5. Risk Assessment
6. Agile Techniques
The PMP® exam consists of 180 questions that must be completed within 240 minutes. The exam includes multiple-choice, multiple-response, and scenario-based questions designed to evaluate your ability to apply project management concepts in real-world project environments.
A PMP® certificate is valid for three years. After that, you can maintain your certification by earning the required professional development units (PDUs) to ensure your skills are up-to-date with current industry standards. You can earn your PDUs through continuing education from authorized training partners like Simplilearn and using examples of successful projects. This PMP® training course will help you gain up to 35 of the 60 PDUs you need to maintain your certification.
The PMP® exam assesses candidates across three domains:
No, the PMP certification exam fee is not part of our course fee. You need to pay it separately to the Project Management Institute (PMI)® when applying for the exam.
The PMP® exam consists of 180 questions that assess knowledge across three domains:
People (42%)
Process (50%)
Business Environment (8%).
You will answer various question types, such as multiple choice, matching, and hotspot items that require you to interpret diagrams or charts. The content is evenly split between traditional waterfall methods and agile or hybrid project management approaches to reflect modern US workplace standards.
Candidates have 230 minutes to finish the examination. This total time does not include two scheduled 10-minute breaks. These breaks occur after you complete the first and second sets of 60 questions.
It is important to review your answers for each section before taking a break because you cannot return to those questions once the next segment begins.
Yes, the PMP 7th edition exam will be available until 8th July 2026. After that date, it will be sunset. From 9th July 2026 onward, learners will need to take the PMP 8th edition exam. To prepare for the 8th edition exam, they should enroll in the Bridge course to cover the additional topics.
After completing the PMP exam training, you are given a one-year eligibility period to pass the examination by PMI. You may take the PMP certification exam up to three times during your eligibility. If you fail the examination three times within your eligibility period, you must wait one year from the last examination date to reapply for the project management professional certification. However, you may apply for any other PMI certifications after failing a certification examination three times. When applying for revaluation, you can submit a written request to the PMI® certification department for review of their decision.
There is no impact of the PMBOK 8th edition on the 7th edition exam. Until 8th July 2026, learners can refer to the PMBOK 7th edition. From 9th July 2026 onward, the 8th edition exam will commence, and learners will need to refer to the PMBOK 8th edition.
The PMP certification provides comprehensive knowledge of project management principles, equipping professionals with the knowledge, techniques, and tools to tackle real-world project challenges. Recognized globally, PMP is the gold standard for career growth in project management. Obtaining a Project Management Professional certification opens new opportunities and advancements across industries.
PMI® Membership is a professional membership offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the global authority for project management and the governing body of the PMP® certification. It helps project management professionals demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, stay current with industry trends, share knowledge, and engage with the global project management community.
By becoming a PMI member, professionals gain access to exclusive learning resources, industry insights, and career development tools that support both PMP® exam preparation and long-term professional growth.
PMI membership is valid for one year from the date of activation and can be renewed up to 90 days before expiration. Members can check their membership status through the myPMI dashboard on PMI.org.
It is important to note that PMI membership renewal and PMP® certification renewal are separate processes with separate fees. Membership follows a one-year cycle, while PMP® certification renewal follows a three-year cycle and requires earning the necessary PDUs to maintain the credential.
There are no prerequisites to attend the Simplilearn PMP Certification Training course itself. However, to be eligible to take the official PMP certification exam from PMI, candidates must meet specific requirements for education and professional project management experience.
Option 1 (Four-Year Degree): A four-year college degree, 36 months of project management experience leading projects, and 35 hours of project management education (which this course provides)
Option 2 (High School Diploma): A high school diploma or secondary school degree, 60 months of experience leading projects, and 35 hours of project management education (which this course provides)
CAPM® Holders: If you hold the CAPM® certification, the 35-hour education requirement is waived for the PMP application
Our committed team is here to answer your questions through email, chat, calls, and community forums. On-demand support is available to guide you through the Project Management Professional Training. Once you finish the PMP® Certification Training, you will gain lifelong access to our community forum.
The PMP® certification is not intended for beginners. Applicants must prove they have at least three to five years of experience leading projects to qualify for the exam. If you are new to the field or a recent graduate, the CAPM is a more appropriate starting point. It allows you to become proficient in the fundamental terminology and concepts before gaining the professional experience needed for the PMP®.
Yes, the Bridge course will cover the additional topics added in the PMP® 8th edition compared to the 7th edition. We will share the further details soon.
A PMP® certification holder must renew their certification within three years of becoming certified. If they fail to renew it within this period, their certification will expire. However, they are granted a one-year suspension period during which the certificate status will show as expired. During this suspension year, they can renew their certification free of cost by meeting the 60 PDUs requirement.
A PMP® certification holder can attend a Bridge course to refresh their knowledge and stay up to date; however, it is not mandatory. If the certification is still valid, no action is required. If the certification expires, the holder must renew it as per the prescribed renewal criteria.
In 2026, earning a PMP® certification online typically yields a high return through both immediate salary growth and long-term career stability. Beyond the financial advantages, this credential proves to prospective employers that you have a standardized level of expertise in leading diverse teams and delivering consistent value.
It remains a firm requirement for many senior leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies and government agencies across the country. Ultimately, the certification serves as a powerful endorsement of your professional commitment and strategic project management skills.
