I became associated with Simplilearn in 2014, when I enrolled in my first set of courses. I have a passion for learning new things and collecting certifications. Over the years, I have taken courses in PMP®, PRINCE2®, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and DevOps. In 2021, Simplilearn’s DevOps course helped me land my new job as a solution architect and ServiceNow consultant at birkle IT in Munich, Germany. With it came a 100 percent salary hike. I give full credit to Simplilearn. The most recent course I completed was Simplilearn’s Professional Blockchain Certification Program from IIT Kanpur.

I took the course in Blockchain because the technology resolves an old problem of slow and insecure online payments. Using Blockchain also eliminates overburdens on the process in an exquisite way. I recently put my new Blockchain certification from Simplilearn on my Linkedin profile, and it is gaining a lot of attention. Simplilearn’s courses are comprehensive, to the point, and accessible. Over the years, I have taken 11 courses from Simplilearn, completing four or five so far, and I am finishing the remaining courses.

Upskilling for the sake of knowledge

Upskilling is my passion. I like to learn new things and collect certifications. My motive behind upskilling was not to get a new job, but to learn new skills. People ask me why I keep taking so many courses, and I simply reply that I do it for personal growth. When you upskill, you open yourself to new experiences. You talk to other people from different backgrounds, and it teaches you a lot. I started my career as a business analyst, then moved to service management and IT. My experience has taught me that it is essential to keep learning new things to keep growing. 

During the pandemic, we were all working from home, and I wanted to make good use of my time. So, last year, I worked on getting a certification in DevOps from Simplilearn, which I received in November 2021. I am interested in learning new technologies, so I enrolled in Simplilearn’s Professional Blockchain Certification Program from IIT Kanpur.

I’ve spent over 16+yrs in the automotive space, working at various levels in different companies.  I worked with the likes of Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, etc. My last transition was from being a Deputy Manager Research & Development at Mahindra to Tata Motors where as a Senior Manager where I worked for over six and a half years.

The potential for AI in business strategy and support is definitely a growing sector and I knew that I wanted to do something of my own in this space. However, I felt like I needed to learn a bit more to understand my company’s niche.

The Challenge

With this much potential in AI, I started looking for ideas that would offer a whole playground where I could create a unique offering for my customers. I am from Hyderabad and I graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the CMR Institute of Technology in 2020. Due to the pandemic, my job prospects looked weak and I eventually joined Amazon Development Center as a Technical Support Associate in 2021. Since my undergraduate days, I had the goal to become a software engineer but due to my educational background, I wasn’t able to explore the domain.

I am a project analyst in the Jamaican government’s housing assistance department. Providing housing assistance involves numerous steps between land procurement and delivering home ownership to beneficiaries. My job was to evaluate a better way to manage the process.

I decided to take Simplilearn’s Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Course because it teaches how to organize processes. I hold a Master of Arts in communication for social and behavior change from the University of the West Indies, and I knew I would benefit from Simplilearn’s online course. 

After taking the course, I could better segment the processes and address problem areas. When the pandemic hit, our department moved the documentation process online. However, we could not keep track of all the documents, which ultimately caused delays. So, I applied the Lean Six Sigma methodology to solve the problem. The course helped me manage time easily and deliver output promptly. 

My overall experience with the course was excellent. I am not very confident using statistics, and Simplilearn’s Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Course helped me understand them.

My Journey

I hail from Gurgaon and stay there with my family. I started my professional career with TCS six years ago. I got that job during campus placement, and it was a QA (quality assurance) role manual testing profile. But I was always interested in software development, mainly Java, my favorite language. 

The Challenge

Whenever I used to reach out to my managers to change my role, they would ask for some proof or certifications. The lack of any formal development knowledge or certifications, I was unable to move towards the software development domain. I was constantly looking for ways to upskill myself and this is the time when I came across Simplilearn. One of my friends was taking the Data Engineering course from Simplilearn, and his feedback was very good, so I checked out the course on the Simplilearn website, and I liked the roadmap and structure of the course.

The Simplilearn Solution

I browsed through the different Java courses offered by Simplilearn and finalized on the Java Certification Training Course. It was a six-month-long course, and it set the ground for me. I came to understand what to explore at that time. Before taking the course, I was in an imaginary universe and thought we needed to learn everything, but that’s not the case in software development. We just need to learn what is required at that point. Now I have cleared the OCGP certification after taking this course. Everything was perfect in the course, there was 24×7 technical support and flexible schedules, and whenever we had any doubts, it was cleared within a day. My career started after completing my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mumbai University in 2004.
